Lemon8 is a mix of Instagram, Pinterest and Amazon and comes from the Chinese company ByteDance. It is based on a product that is extremely popular in China: the Chinese social commerce platform Xiaohongshutranslated it means “the little red book“.

The platform has in China 260 million monthly active users and helps young Chinese with their life hacks, or suggests shopping and restaurant recommendations, reports Techcrunch.
