Anyone using Windows 10 before version 22H2 in the Home, Pro, Pro Education or Pro for Workstations versions will receive the last update on June 13 of this year. Microsoft is now pointing this out urgently in the Windows Release Health Message Center.

After June, these versions will no longer receive security or other updates. Support requests for these versions would only be answered with the note to update to a supported Windows version, explained Microsoft in a tight announcement.

The affected Windows versions should receive an automatic update. Microsoft writes: “To help you stay protected and productive, Windows Update will automatically initiate a feature update for Windows 10 consumer and unmanaged corporate devices that are out of service or in the next few months.”

As a result, the Windows system will continue to be supported and receive monthly updates that are important for the security and health of the ecosystem, explains Microsoft. The manufacturer goes on to say, “These devices allow you to choose a convenient time to restart and update your device.”

As usual, Microsoft recommends updating to the current version of Windows 10 – although the function update will soon come automatically, this way users can keep control over the point in time. Those affected should migrate to Windows 11 on devices that support it. Managed systems, such as those in organizations’ Active Directory, are not affected by automatic version upgrades.

Windows 10 mit Stand 22H2 Microsoft still supports until October 14, 2025. A year ago, Microsoft announced the end of support for Windows 10 20H2, Enterprise 1909 and Windows Server 20H2.
