AUBASA sources confirmed to 0221.com.ar that the protest was without effect after 3:00 p.m. this Friday. This decision was made after the state firm, in charge of Ricardo Lissaldeissued an extensive statement in which it asked the union of the Toll and Allied Workers Union (SUTPA) to put aside the direct action measures and put down their attitude to stop harming users of highways that are under public control .

This Plan contemplates the implementation of more than 100 workers who are currently in casual status as well as the development of new operational areas to retrain all personnel whose functions could be replaced by dynamic payment mechanisms. ANDThis Plan, which aims to modernize the company with all the workers inside, also contemplates the approval of a new organization chart and the recategorization of a large number of workers”, is detailed in another passage of the statement.
From the company they indicated that the plan is part of the decision of Governor Axel Kicillof to “expand the activity of the sector by incorporating Route 6, whose works are soon to be completed, to the toll system operated by AUBASA, a fact that was also timely notified to the authorities of the Union”.
It should be remembered that Aubasa is a provincial State company and that this measure of force “costs the people of Buenos Aires 60 million pesos per day.” The last strike carried out by Sutpa was in October of last year and lasted 17 days “costing the provincial State 1,265 million pesos at updated value, an amount equivalent to that required to build five schools or repair 58 kilometers of roads,” they detailed.
“To date, the only claims sustained by SUTPA consist of the reinstatement of a manager, removed from his position for breach of his duties, and the removal from office of the current president of the company Ricardo Lissalde”maintained from the firm and considered that in both cases “the claims are absolutely misplaced” because they are hierarchical personnel outside of the agreement, and because the right of the Province as the majority shareholder of the company to direct its destiny is unknown.
