On the right side of FC Augsburg it’s pretty airy right now. Veteran André Hahn (32) will be out for an indefinite period with cartilage damage, while Noah Sarenren Bazee (26) is forced to watch with a cruciate ligament tear. Regular left winger Rubén Vargas (24) had to help out on the other side of the pitch time and time again.
Reason enough for FCA officials to add another option to the squad on the right. As the local newspaper ‘Augsburger Allgemeine’ reports, it will be arriving from Belgium shortly. As a result, the Fuggerstadt team are about to sign Arne Engels.
The 19-year-old made his breakthrough at professional level this season with Belgian second division side Club NXT. He made 15 appearances for the Club Brugge farm team, scoring two goals and providing six assists. There are also five Youth League appearances for Bruges U19, in which Engels contributed two assists. His contract expires at the end of the season.
