On Sunday, the stage was set for the final of Farmen kendis. After six weeks at Steinsjøen farm, the given winning title was to be awarded.

After an intense finals week with competitions after competitions, it was finally Sofie Karlstad (25) and Trond Moi (53) who fought for first place.

Ahead of the final itself, the hearing was held, where the eliminated participants had to cast their vote for one of the finalists. The one with the most votes could get a big advantage, namely a final knife.

However, the implementation of the election did not go down well with one participant in particular.

Was eligible

During the hearing, Karlstad received five of the votes of the participants. Moi received three votes from those who were present, and two votes from those who could not be there on the final day.

In the course of the programme, there have been four participants who have withdrawn: Lina Adampour (37), Malin Nesvoll (33), Marit Adeleide Andreassen (56) and Espen PA Lervaag (45). The latter two withdrew while they were Torpet celebrity participants.

– Several people have withdrawn during the period, and those who have withdrawn unfortunately do not have the opportunity to vote here at the final, says presenter Tiril Sjåstad Christiansen during Sunday’s episode.

– But then we have two people who are qualified to vote, but who unfortunately could not come here today. Marit and Espen have cast their vote for me earlier today, she added.

As Lervaag and Andreassen were Torpet celebrity participants when they withdrew, they were allowed to cast their vote. However, they could not be present during the hearing.

TV 2 has received a number of questions about this in the past 24 hours, both directly, in the comments section and on social media. Below are some examples:

“It didn’t turn out right. Marit’s vote should not have been counted. She went out”

“Why did Marit get a vote, and not the first two who resigned? She resigned too!”

“What happens to the voices?”

“Why did Marit get the vote when she resigned?”

Farmen celebrity participant Erik Sæter (26) also reacts to the discrimination.

– It was stupid

If there had only been participants who were present who could vote, Karlstad would have received the final knife. Lervaag and Andreassen voted for Moi.

After counting the two votes cast in advance, there was a tie between Karlstad and Moi – and no knife was handed out. Sæter believes this should have been different.

– I think it was stupid. I’ve never watched Farmen, so I don’t know if it’s a normal procedure, but it seemed a bit strange that someone would get a vote from the South, he tells TV 2.

During the hearing, Andreassen was away and Lervaag was on a trip.

– I was on holiday then. My voice would probably have been the same whether I was present or not, says Lervaag.

Disagreement about the votes

During the Farm’s final party at Månefisken, Karlstad says that she thinks those who did not show up at the final meeting should not have been given a vote either.

– It is also for the sake of justice, as they did not get to hear any speech from us. We were not allowed to tell our reasoning to those who sat at home; they only voted on the basis that there were two names in the final, she says.

Karlstad thinks it was a bit unfair, and wonders if the result could have been different.

– But I’m not going to sit and be bitter about it. I think that TV 2 has made an assessment, and I have to respect that, she adds.

Another Farmen kendis participant, Jan Tore Kjær, however, believes that it is good that Lervaag and Andreassen got to vote.

– I think it was perfectly fine. Everyone who has participated, and thinks something about the people who were there, should be allowed to cast a vote. Regardless of whether you have retired or returned home early, says Kjær.

– No rule without exception

During the final meeting, all participants, except those who have withdrawn from Farmen kendis, must be present. During the first week, Adampour withdrew, while Nesvoll did the same in week four due to health problems. They were therefore not given the opportunity to vote.

– The rule is that all participants who have had to leave “Farmen kendis” in the usual way through having lost duels, must compete in the final. Having said that, there is no rule without exception here either. There will always be situations that mean that you have to find other solutions, says TV 2’s press manager Jan-Petter Dahl.

– In connection with the final of Farmen celebrity, we think it was completely fair that both Espen and Marit got to vote even if they were not present, since they had both been full-fledged Farmen celebrity participants who quit after two-match losses.
