Police activity over suspected bomb leads to street closure in downtown Los Angeles

A street in downtown Los Angeles was closed Monday afternoon due to a bomb squad investigation.

Officers responded to the 500 block of South Flower Street following a report of a suspicious van parked in the area. Traffic was diverted from the street, but evacuations were not ordered.

A bomb squad robot was on the scene as part of the investigation.

Flower Street is closed between 5th and Wilshire Streets.

Details about the report and what might be inside the van were not immediately available.
