NEW YORK — After a sunny week, it looks like some rain will fall on Friday to welcome the weekend.

Although overall a nice summer day on Thursday, we will begin to notice some subtle changes in the weather culminating in a lineup of strong to severe storms impacting our area on Friday afternoon.

On Thursday we noticed an increase in humidity, followed by an increase in clouds and the possibility of some isolated showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon, evening and early morning.

This will all lead up to Friday when a frontal system will bring the possibility of severe weather in the area in the afternoon which will continue overnight with rain ending Saturday morning just in time for our weekend!
