Seven injured in crash on I-75 near Weston

Police are investigating an accident that occurred Monday morning in a section of the I-75 highway in Weston, which left seven injured, the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) confirmed.

The crash happened early in the morning on a stretch of I-75 near Glades Parkway in Weston.

According to BSO, the seven injured included two pediatric patients and two people who required surgery upon arrival at Broward Health Medical Center.

Aerial images from Telemundo 51 showed a van with damage and a dump truck, apparently involved in the accident. A power pole was brought down in what appears to be a violent crash.

According to the city of Weston, the Glades Parkway exit was closed early in the morning, but drivers could use Indian Trace, Bonaventure Boulevard or US 27 as alternate routes.
