And seven year old boy was murdered shot in Tampa during the Independence Day celebrations, according to official sources.

The tragedy occurred in the 8500 block of Courtney Campbell Causeway in Tampa, in an area of ​​the beach, where two groups staged an altercation that led to a shootout, reported the media.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. Police responded to Ben T Davis Beach to report a shooting at a boat ramp.

Witnesses told officers that one group was angry that the second was riding jet skis too close to shore, where children were playing in the water.

According to police, when the confrontation turned to shooting, the seven-year-old’s grandfather put him in his truck.

The bullet hit the grandfather’s finger and they believe it also hit the boy and entered his head while they were both inside the truck.

“This incident at the Courtney Campbell Causeway adds to what has been happening when people are not responsible with their firearms. We have to do better as a community, really as Americans,” said Calvin Johnson, Deputy Chief of Investigations and Advocacy.

The infant was rushed to the hospital after the shooting but was pronounced dead.

“Our thoughts are with the family of this innocent child,” Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaw said. “Our detectives will work tirelessly until all those involved are identified and arrested.”

The celebrations of July 4 have left several people dead and dozens injured in the US.

A Washington, nine peopleincluding two children, were shot on Tuesday night.

Last year one of the most violent events was recorded in Highland Park, Illinois, where in a parade for Independence Day there were six dead and at least 31 injured.
