Severe weather risk: large hail, strong winds, heavy rain, and possibility of tornadoes

DENVER, Colorado – The storm pattern repeats for Thursday and the risk of severe weather is expected to increase, with the greatest threat in the southeastern sections of Denver, through the Palmer Divide and into Lincoln County.

Large hail is possible and some severe storms could produce hail the size of golf or tennis balls.

Winds will also be blowing strong with gusts that could reach 70 mph, especially as the storms organize and move southeast across the plains.

The possibility of tornadoes will also be present for this afternoon and evening. The storms will also generate very heavy rainfall and could cause localized flooding.

It is important to be prepared and take precautions during these weather conditions. Stay informed about advisories and warnings issued by local authorities and follow safety instructions. If possible, take cover in a safe place until conditions improve.

For Friday and Saturday we will continue talking about severe weather with storms in the afternoons and it will not be until Sunday when the weather conditions improve again.
