Shohei Ohtani’s season is headed for be one of the best for a player in Major League history. The Japanese has already reached 40 home runs, he is 6 away from breaking his own mark and 22 away from equaling the record for home runs in a season set by Aaron Judge last year.
In addition, in pitching he is also listed as one of the best arms in the American League with an average of 3.32, 9 wins and 5 losses. These numbers are on track to take his second MVP award since his arrival in the Major Leagues in 2018.
The superiority of the Japanese on the way to the MVP is so clear that several bookmakers withdrew the option of betting on Ohtani to win the prize in the American League, something very unusual in sports betting.
