Even better, Super Mario Bros. is now the best start in history for an animated film, with $377 million in international box office receipts. And if certain specialized critics seem to take a certain pleasure in descending this first foray of Super Mario Bros into the cinema (in animated version), the fault sometimes with a total absence of double reading, the feedback from the public is generally very positive. The film indeed attracts the favors of the youngest, like parents (who grew up with Super Mario). But recently, it’s a song from Super Mario Bros that is making the buzz.

… and Bowser (Jack Black) soon at the 2024 Oscars?

Indeed, a few days ago, Nintendo uploaded the music video for “Peaches“, an improbable piano ballad performed by the king of the Koopas: Bowser. The latter, transit lover of the famous Princess Peach, does not hesitate to declaim his love for the latter, through a short (but memorable) song, interpreted in the original version of the film by actor/singer Jack Black.

Only a few hours will have sufficed for this walk to make the rounds of social networks, garnering a few million plays and views. On the side of Universal, it was recently confirmed to Variety magazine that the song “Peaches” is indeed eligible for the Oscars, and could therefore be nominated early next year in the category “Best Original Song“.

Obviously, we imagine that the film Super Mario Bros will certainly benefit from various nominations during this great annual mass of cinema. It remains to be seen now if Jack Black will perform this already cult song on the stage of the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.
