PARIS.- Switzerland will be the guest of honor of the Film Market during the 77th Festival of Cannes, announced today -May 2- the organizers of this parallel event that will be held between May 14 and 22. Spain was the guest of the Market last year.
Representatives from the Locarno Festival, the Swiss Cinematheque and the Zurich Film Festival will lead several workshops.
In addition to the Film Market, the Swiss film industry will also be represented by two films from the Un Certain Regard selection: The Shameless, by Konstantin Bojanov; y The dog’s trial, by Laetitia Dosch.
The Spanish Elena López Riera (Water) will present his short film The Brides of the South (Swiss-Spanish co-production) in a special session of Critics’ Week.
Furthermore, the animated film Savages! by Claude Barras (The life of Zucchini), will be presented in a session for young audiences in Cannes.
