In the world of acting, it is increasingly common to see how its big stars go through different processes for their films. Many put themselves to the test physically, undergoing great physical changes to be able to arrive on set trying to resemble their role as much as possible.
Yet others go through wacky and bizarre courses, as has Willem Dafoe. The actor has surprised his followers by undergoing a Corps autopsy and embalming course. A difficult task and imposed by the filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos.
A preparation for ‘Poor creatures’
This has been in charge of sending him to this course for his new film, ‘Poor creatures’which hits theaters next September and is starring Mark Ruffalo and Emma Stone, and in which Dafoe plays a scientist who revives the dead. Therefore, to him and also to Ramy Yousefforced them to go through this course of embalming corpses.
“It was something like: ‘Mark is going to speech class, Emma is going to dance class, Willem and I are going to undertaker’s school. and we’ll meet at lunchtime”, Youssef began by explaining to ‘IndieWire’.
“Willem was very focused. I used to go around making jokes while I sewed: I’m more or less good at that, because I have small hands so I can easily reach places. At first Willem was like: ‘What the hell is this?’, but once he got the hang of it he did better than me.”.
