The Simpsons predicted the disappearance of the Titanic submarine 17 years ago

The predictions of The Simpson add a new chapter to its extensive history with the similarities that can be seen between one of the episodes of the veteran series by Matt Groening and the disaster that the submersible Titan is starring these days. The tourist submarine disappeared last Sunday with five people on board when it descended to visit the remains of the Titanic, located almost 4,000 meters deep in the North Atlantic.

In episode 10 of season 17, released in January 2006, a letter from 40 years ago reveals that Homer may actually be the son of a man named Mason Fairbanks. The father of Bart, Maggie and Lisa then begins the challenge of looking for him to find out the truth and ends up visiting him at his house, a house of enormous dimensions that corresponds to the high fortune that Fairbanks manages.

During her days with him, Mason shows her his home and also his ship while telling her details of a supposedly lost treasure of emeralds.. Both then take some submarines and descend until they find the remains of a ship that was wrecked and sank, and as unfortunately has happened with the Titan, the oxygen runs out in the device driven by Homer.
