The James Webb Telescope of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA, for its acronym in English) opened the doors to a better look at the Universe. After completing its first year of work, science adds up a tool that will be decisive in the exploration of space.
NASA launched on December 25, 2021 to the Webb Telescope, a fact that marked the beginning of the mission. She did it with an Ariane 5 vehicle from French Guyana.
With its primary mirror, which uses 18 hexagonal segments, plus other key elements for imaging in space, the James Webb Telescope is located near the Earth-Sun L2 Lagrangian point.
And the recognitions for his work do not stop coming. This month, Bloomberg ranked him on its annual list of icons, leaders and innovators of 2022.
“The James Webb Space Telescope shows what can be done when a dedicated international team is committed to solving very difficult technological and engineering challenges to see our universe in a new light”, said Mike Menzel, principal systems engineer for the Webb mission at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.

One of the images was of a realm Of Early Galaxies, in the outer regions of Abell 2744, which existed just 450 million years after the Big Bang.
They also highlight new views of the South Ring Nebula, combining near and mid infrared light from three filters. In the photos you can see how very hot gas surrounds the two central stars.
The Cosmic Cliffs They surprised researchers and science fans, thanks to the details obtained by Webb: this region is on the edge of a gigantic gaseous cavity within the NGC 3324 star cluster.
