They do not rule out gender violence in the death of a septuagenarian

The Police do not rule out gender violence in the death of a septuagenarian who was hospitalized for several days in a hospital in Bayamón.

This is Dalma Alicea, 70, who was transported to the Doctors’ Center in Bayamón last Wednesday after a man, who identified himself as her partner, alleged that she had fallen out of bed.

There the doctor on duty diagnosed her with intracranial bleeding, rib fractures, a perforated lung and bruises.

Subsequently, the doctor notified the relatives that the diagnosis was not compatible with a fall, so they activated the protocol and alerted the authorities.

Her daughter, Wilmarie Natal, told Telenoticias that she suspects that the 65-year-old subject, who resided in the United States, would have beaten her after an argument.

According to the daughter, Alicea met the man on social networks and they initially had a relationship through video calls and text messages, until she invited him to live at her residence. Since then, she has alleged that the subject isolated her from her friends and family.

The inspector and director of the Bayamón CIC, Robert Ramos confirmed that the case is being investigated by the Homicide division and they are waiting for the results of the autopsy.

At the moment, Ramos did not rule out any angle.
