Jalisco.- The State Government reported that during an operation on Tuesday night, the State Attorney’s Office managed to capture six alleged kidnappers and free two women who were deprived of their liberty.

The incident took place minutes before 9:00 p.m. on the Nogales Highway, between the town of San Antonio El Chico and La Venta del Astillero, in Zapopan. At that point, the personnel from the anti-kidnapping area intercepted the kidnappers when they were in vehicles that were insured.

The State Prosecutor’s Office reported around 4:00 p.m. this Wednesday that the detainees are Saúl “N”, 31, Josué Jacob “N”, 18; Alan “N” of 34; Daniel Alejandro “N”, 31; Takechi Josué “N”, 37 and Francisco Javier “N”, 34.

The Prosecutor’s Office keeps them under investigation for the crime of aggravated kidnapping and will seek to bring them before a judge in the next few hours.

The institution also stated that they seized two firearms and three vehicles. In addition, the group is investigated for other kidnappings.

For his part, it was the Governor of the State, Enrique Alfaro, who communicated this afternoon through his social networks about this case.

“Last night, the anti-kidnapping unit of the Jalisco State Prosecutor’s Office managed to dismantle a gang of kidnappers with the arrest of 6 men and the seizure of vehicles and weapons. Fortunately, in this operation the rescue of two women deprived of their freedom,” said the President.

Although Alfaro assured that his Administration has managed to contain the kidnapping thanks to timely actions, the reality is that the crime grew in 2022, since it closed with 24 victims, two more than those registered in all of 2021, according to data from the Executive Secretariat of the System National Public Security.
