Entry into the top ten is imminent. Before that, Heidi Klum’s models have to master a shoot and a difficult walk – under the eyes of very special people.
The candidates for “Germany’s next top model” are surprised in the 13th episode. Before that there is a photo shoot in a luxury penthouse in Los Angeles. Dressed by the star designers Saint Laurent, Vauthier, Costello and Dundas, the models pose with champagne bottles and diamonds. Meanwhile, her loved ones are in the background. The surprise is correspondingly large.
Tears of joy and screams of alarm
The reactions to loved ones are extremely different. Heidi Klum gets exactly the reaction she wanted from Anna-Maria: she screams and jumps and cries as soon as she sees her fiancé – and can’t stop at first. “That’s how I imagined it,” says Klum with satisfaction.
Mirella doesn’t even seem to dare to hug her mother. Selma completely freaks out when she sees her dearest friend and shrieks, “Boy, I’m overwhelmed!” Somajia reacts even more violently. She runs screaming and jumping towards her friend on the patio, so Klum says, “Don’t fall off the house!” Coco looks at her mother like a ghost and starts to cry. And between tears and hugs, Katherine thanks Klum for her boyfriend, like she just brought him to life.
Family, partners and friends also watch the elimination walk. To do this, they sit at tables between which the models in huge dresses with hoop skirts have to maneuver. Even during the test run, rows of models stumble over their princess dresses. Katherine: “It’s so scary, you just walk into space!”
“It’s not a kid’s birthday party!”
Klum also gets a visit from a friend: Sofia Vergara is her guest judge. The two women can’t inspire everyone on the walk: Nina rushes through as if she’s in a hurry and looks “as if she’s getting stuck everywhere,” says Vergara.
Olivia strides through the crowd as if it were her party and greeting everyone. Not in Klum’s sense: “She forgets modeling,” is her verdict. Somajia levitates down the catwalk but forgets to mark it and exaggerates with all sorts of poses on the way back, including forming a heart with her fingers. “This is not a children’s birthday party,” complains Klum.
All three then have to worry about entering the top ten. “Each of you did your own thing,” criticizes Heidi. But doing too much is better than hesitating: Nina has to leave the show because she is not self-confident enough. But at least she can start the way back with her very proud boyfriend.
