This is the mechanics of El 1%, the new Atresmedia contest presented by Arturo Valls

After having dispensed with successful contests such as Ahora caigo or Boom!, Atresmedia will expand its catalog of programs this Thursday with the llegacy of The 1%. Arturo Valls will be in charge of directing a format in which 100 participants will face logical puzzles to try to win a jackpot of 100,000 euros.

The contest has a peculiar mechanic. There will be no general culture questions, but other types of intelligence will be evaluated, such as the relationship of concepts, pictorial or spatial logic, so it is a space that lends itself greatly to playing from home. Each contestant will start with 1,000 euros on their scoreboard and whoever answers incorrectly will be eliminated. His money will become part of the pot from that moment on.

The difficulty of the questions, as always in this type of formats, will increase. They all start from a study previously carried out on an anonymous population (1,000 people) and its complexity depends on the number of people who have guessed it correctly during the investigations. The first corresponds to 90% correct and, from there, it subtracts.

In total there will be fifteen questions with a difficulty rating that increases by 5%. The contestants who are able to get the most questions right will win 10,000 euros and the right to participate in the 1% question, which can give them a pot of 100,000 euros.

Anonymous people mixed with famous people will participate in the contest, although only the former can compete for the final prize. In the first installment, Miguel Lago, Soraya Arnelas and Nicols Coronado will measure their intelligence to see how far they are capable of going.

Using wildcards

Depending on the difficulty of the question, contestants may avail themselves of the right of Use your 1,000 euros as a wildcard and skip the question. You can do it between exercises 5 and 14 always after seeing the question. In addition, they can also be planted once they exceed the seventh level and settle for 1,000 euros.

In question 15, the remaining finalists will have to face a dilemma. Keep the 10,000 euros prize (to be distributed among all those who do not want to risk) or choose to try to resolve the final. If they do it correctly they will win 100,000 euros.
