Three TSA agents at Miami airport are accused of robbing passengers

Three Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers assigned to Miami International Airport (MIA) have been arrested after surveillance video showed passengers being robbed during security checks, authorities said Friday.

Josué González, 20, Elizabeth Fuster, 22, and Labarrius Williams, 33, were arrested Thursday at MIA on charges of racketeering, according to Miami-Dade jail records.

According to the arrest reports, authorities began investigating several robberies that occurred at checkpoint E of the airport.

Detectives found surveillance video showing the three officers distracting passengers who were being searched in order to steal money from their belongings, reports indicate.

In one case, video provided by TSA shows Williams and Gonzalez removing $600 from the wallet of a passenger being searched.

According to Miami-Dade police reports, the three officers were observed on different occasions robbing passengers.

Fuster, Williams and González were booked into the Miami-Dade jail.

“The Transportation Security Administration holds its officers to the highest professional and ethical standards and does not tolerate acts of misconduct on the job site,” a TSA spokesperson said in a statement.

“We actively and aggressively investigate these allegations of misconduct and have presented our findings to the Miami-Dade Police Department and are working closely with them. Any employee who fails to meet our fundamental ethical standards will be held accountable,” it added.
