Two men who tried to escape from the police were arrested in the early hours of this Sunday after their car overturned in Miami.

The accident occurred on the John F. Kennedy Causeway, between North Bay Village and Miami, after police tried to stop the car involved, which was driving at high speed through the town towards the mainland, reported the news channel Local 10.

The driver of the car refused to stop, lost control a short distance away, and finally collided with a large rock before rolling over.

After the vehicle was smashed upside down, the driver and a passenger got out of the car and tried to escape.

The police used a dog to locate them, one of the fugitives was located in some nearby bushes and the other swimming in the water near the marina.

The car was finally towed while no information on the identity of the suspects or what they are accused of has been disclosed.
