Actor Russell Brand has vehemently denied “very serious criminal allegations” about his personal life in a video where he does not specify what the allegations are but insists his relationships have always been consensual. The actor seems to receive the support of the influencer Andrew Tate, indicted in Romania for human trafficking and rape, and the billionaire Elon Musk, the owner of the social media platform X and the company SpaceX, reports The Guardian.

In a clip posted to YouTube and his social media platforms, the actor said he had received communications from a “mainstream television company” and a newspaper “listing a litany of highly egregious and aggressive attacks” that he ” rejects them absolutely”.
Brand said the allegations related to the period of his career when he was working “in the mainstream”.
“As I have written extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous. During that period of promiscuity, the relationships we had were absolutely always consensual. I was always transparent about it then, almost too transparent, and I’m transparent about it now,” Brand said, adding: To see that transparency metastasize into something criminal, which I absolutely deny, makes me wonder: is there another agenda at play?”
How Andrew Tate and Elon Musk responded to Russell Brand’s denials
Elon Musk, owner of the X platform, formerly known as Twitter, responded to Brand’s two-minute video, saying: “Of course. They don’t like competition.”
For his part, Andrew Tate, who is accused of human trafficking and has previously complained of being attacked by the media, also appeared to defend Brand, tweeting “Welcome to the club”.
In his video, Brand denounced “coordinated media attacks” in the past against figures such as the controversial Joe Rogan after he announced he was taking ivermectin to treat Covid-19 in 2021.
