The athlete said that she was windsurfing in the area when she noticed that something dark in the water was passing by her and she immediately noticed the bite on her leg.

Another windsurfer, identified as Jarvis Wade, who was taking advantage of the strong wind conditions that were registered in the area on Tuesday, said that at first they thought it was a joke, but they were able to verify that it was a double bite. .

Authorities said the woman was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition.

People who were in the area posted on their social networks photos of the woman receiving first aid inside a car next to a torn and blood-stained wetsuit.
