A young man from Guantanamo who is dedicated to transporting passengers on a motorcycle was stabbed by a client identified as Julián Enrique, who is currently found a fugitive from justice.
The victim, named Armando Rodríguez Villanueva, and a resident of Guantánamo City, is hospitalized, reported the Facebook profile of Michaela Días García, which urges the authorities to take action in the face of growing crime.
The attack occurred in the early morning of July 30 and after committing the crime the attacker fled. Until now he is missing.
The Internet user questions how long the levels of violence on the island. “It is unfortunate that while people like Armando go to work honestly to put a plate of food on the table, others dedicate themselves to committing crimes, stealing and even killing for any object of value or for the simple fact of hurting, envy and Hate has taken hold of a large part of our youth,” he said.
“The authorities have to take urgent measures against these people, it is not the forklift drivers or those who express their dissatisfaction with the harsh situation that is being experienced who are beating or killing us!” he said.
At the same time that crimes in Cuba increase, in the midst of the inaction and inefficiency of law enforcement, and the population feels increasingly insecure, the government is carrying out a campaign in the press and on the networks to clean up the image of the Police and show a false tranquility in the streets.
In June, officials from the MININT affirmed that there is no impunity before the crimes, and denied the veracity of alleged acts disseminated on the networks, such as armed assaults on buses and hospitals, as well as assaults and kidnapping of minors.
Colonel Hugo Morales, head of the Police patrol brigade, said that there are people who unscrupulously publish unverified information and generate panic, which he linked to a supposed “media war” being promoted against Cuba from abroad.
For his part, Colonel Manuel Valdés, head of the confrontation body of the Technical Directorate of Investigations (DTI), said that all crimes that are reported are investigated, and that most of those responsible are arrested within 48 hours.
