After a knife attack on a seven-year-old boy in Halle an der Saale, an arrest warrant was issued against a suspect on Friday. The 60-year-old is accused of dangerous bodily harm to the detriment of a child, according to the police in Halle. The motive was still unclear. The police continued to investigate.
The 60-year-old is said to have attacked the boy with a knife on the street on Thursday. The child suffered a superficial stab wound and was taken to a hospital for treatment, which police said he was later able to leave. So there was no danger to life.
The suspect was temporarily arrested in the vicinity of the crime scene and brought before a magistrate on Friday. He ordered pre-trial detention. (AFP)
