Gran Turismo is coming to the cinema: Sony has now released the first teaser trailer for the film adaptation of the successful PlayStation series. This shows plenty of high-horsepower racing action and reveals details about the plot, and the start date has also been revealed. According to official sources, Gran Turismo tells the true story of Jann Mardenborough (played by Archie Madekwe) and his rise from Gran Turismo player to true pro racer. The Nissan competitions between 2008 and 2016, in which Mardenborough successfully participated, will play a central role in the film. The video promises a mix of racing action, drama and a love story.
Gran Turismo is directed by Neill Blomkamp and written by Jason Hall and Zach Baylin. In addition to Madekwe, other roles include David Harbour, Orlando Bloom, Darren Barnet, Geri Halliwell Horner, Djimon Hounsou, Maximilian Mundt and Thomas Kretschmann. Theatrical release in Germany is on August 10, 2023.
