There were no suspected cases of the new corona controls for passengers from China. At Frankfurt Airport, 72 passengers on a China-Eastern plane from Shanghai were asked to take an antigen quick test on Monday morning, a spokeswoman for the Frankfurt Health Department reported.

In all cases, these were negative, so that no further investigations were necessary. Otherwise, a PCR test would have been due, which would have been examined for new variants of the corona virus if it was positive.

According to a spokesman, the federal police also checked whether the passengers had the evidence for the quick tests with them, which they had to present before departure. There were no abnormalities here either. In addition, the waste water from the China machines should be controlled. The next arrival from China is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon in Frankfurt.

The authorities are implementing the tightened entry rules that the federal cabinet issued on Friday out of concern about new virus variants. In addition to virus variant areas, the Corona Entry Ordinance can now also specify areas in which a worrying virus variant threatens to appear. According to the Robert Koch Institute, this classification has been in effect for China since midnight (Hong Kong is excluded).

The Federal Foreign Office (AA) is currently advising against “unnecessary trips” to China. The number of infections there is currently at its highest level since the beginning of the pandemic and the Chinese health system is overburdened, according to the explanation in the travel and safety instructions of the AA.
