Missing games: Microsoft probably unhappy with the state of the Xbox

The Redmond-based company Microsoft is said to be dissatisfied with the current state of its Xbox gaming platform. The lack of first-party titles and the PC version of Game Pass are likely to be responsible for this. In the long term, Microsoft could part with the console.

While the PlayStation 5 is selling more and more frequently in this country, not only the fans are dissatisfied with the Xbox. In a podcast (via Insiders Gaming) the journalists Jeff Grubb and Mike Minotti discussed the Xbox and gave an assessment of the situation. Microsoft is upset with the current situation. Many people would already regret buying an Xbox. No first-party game was released for the console in the past year. This caused great displeasure among the players.

Xbox is becoming less attractive to fans

While many first-party games were initially offered exclusively for the Xbox and the Game Pass was only available for the console, Microsoft has since expanded the offer to the PC. This means there are fewer and fewer incentives to buy an Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S. In addition, the technical condition of some games and delays in development have caused negative headlines. While Redfall only runs at 30 FPS, Starfield has been delayed by a year.

Unless the Xbox department solves the problem and increases the attractiveness of the Xbox, it is conceivable that the Redmond company will part with the console in the long term. Microsoft has not yet commented on the rumours. The marketing slogan that the Xbox is the best place to play games is said to have lost meaning a long time ago. If management continues to be dissatisfied, the company could focus entirely on the PC in the future.
