Mexico City. On Sunday approximately 50 Oklahoma National Guard Soldiers and Airmen will deploy to El Paso, Texas to assist the Texas National Guard with border security.
There will be a deployment ceremony for the Texas border mission on Sunday beginning at 1:30 pm at the Norman Armed Forces Reserve Center.
Members will support Operation Lone Star, in which they will man security checkpoints to identify and alert local law enforcement to any illegal immigrant or drug trafficking activities.
