Mexico City.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador regretted the train crash of the Mexico City Metro this morning that left one dead and at least 35 injured and endorsed his support for the City Government, headed by Claudia Sheinbaum.

“I regret the accident in the Mexico City Metro. According to what I am informed, unfortunately one person lost his life and there are several injured. My condolences and my solidarity,” he posted on his Twitter account.

“From the beginning, the public servants of Mexico City are attending to the mishap, who have our full support,” added the President, who is on tour, in a private supervision of the work of the Mayan Train.

This morning, at approximately 9:10 a.m., two trains on Line 3 of the Metro collided, which goes from Indios Verdes to Universidad, between the Potrero and La Raza stations.

Sheinbaum, who was surprised in Morelia, Michoacán, where she was going to show off the “successful policies” of her government, returned by emergency in a helicopter and only at 12:48 p.m. reported that she was already there.
