A 5-year-old girl is hospitalized in serious condition as a result of the injuries sustained by a stray bullet, in a neighborhood in the southwest of Rosario.
It all happened in the middle of the Christmas festivities, in a house on Calle Iriondo at 3900, in the Alvear neighborhood, when they went out to celebrate after midnight.
The victim, whose identity data were preserved, suffered a gunshot wound when he received a projectile from a shot fired into the air, municipal health sources reported to Télam this noon.
The bullet hit him near the skull. Although she was immediately transferred to the Sanatorium for Women to assist her, a few hours later she was diagnosed with brain death.
Historic drop in injuries from fireworks.
This Christmas weekend there were only 9 injuries from the use of fireworks and domestic accidents in the City of Buenos Aires. Seven of them are minors.
According to what was reported by specialists, this number represents a considerable decrease in the number of cases compared to previous years.
In the Municipal Hospital of Quemados, located in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Caballito, two minors with minor injuries from the use of fireworks were admitted last night. From there they explained that this represents a “total decrease” in the number of cases compared to 2019, 2020 and 2021, years in which 80, 41 and 53 injuries were reported, respectively.
For its part, at the Santa Lucía Ophthalmological Hospital, located in the San Cristóbal neighborhood, five people were admitted: two of them had to undergo surgery with severe injuries, the other has minor injuries and the other two minors with minor injuries.
