Suspects arrested for murdering pizza delivery man trying to save elderly man from attack

Three men suspected in the slaying of a pizza delivery man in Stanton were arrested Thursday, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department said.

According to investigators, Henry Diep Le, 19, of Garden Grove, Adrian Castañeda, 19, of Anaheim, and Damian Ivan Mayorga, 18, of Anaheim were booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of murder. .

On June 28, 2022, Juan Cristalinas, 49, a pizza delivery man, was involved in an assault on an elderly man and was fatally shot in the 7000 block of Lessue Avenue in the City of Stanton.

At 5:21 pm on June 28, 2022, Orange County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the crime scene in the City of Stanton for unknown issues. Upon arrival, they found Cristalinas and a 76-year-old man with gunshot wounds.

Cristalinas, from Santa Ana, was pronounced dead, while the older victim suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

According to the investigation, Cristalinas had stopped her vehicle to help the elderly man, who was being attacked by several male subjects, when the attack occurred.

Authorities said the suspects fled the scene, but with the help of various agencies they finally made the arrests.
