Kathleen Kennedy is considered one of Hollywood’s most legendary producers. She has worked on Steven Spielberg’s ET and is standing for a good ten years at the helm of Star Wars creator George Lucas’ legendary film company. In an interview with empires Surprises the president of Lucasfilm with surprising announcements about projects believed to be dead long ago. On the one hand there is the planned feature film Rogue Squadron, the “Top Gun” of the star saga by Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins. This project is still alive.

More Star Wars movies are in the works

She was more reserved about other potential feature films by Rian Johnson (Star Wars: Episode 8, Knives Out) and Taika Waititi (Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder). She is in close contact with Rian Johnson, but since he is now so extremely successful on Netflix, he would also be a very busy man.

What Oscar winner Taika Waititi is concerned, Kathleen Kennedy describes his way of working as industrious, but also as “slow”. Here, too, it will probably be some time before it is clear whether something concrete will actually emerge from the project.

This legendary Star Wars hero is getting his own series

One of the biggest surprises, however, is that Solo: A Star Wars Story appears to be getting a sequel after all. The origin story of the legendary smuggler, which once flopped at the box office, is to be continued in the form of a series on Disney Plus. However, this should be on Lando CalrissianHan Solo’s best friend.

What is interesting here is the fact that Donald Glover should take over the role again and not a digitally rejuvenated Billy Dee Williams from the classic trilogy. So the chances are not bad that Alden Ehrenreich will also play again as young Han Solo will return. More details about the Lando series however, are not yet known.
