"There has been nothing": Representative of Tecatito Corona denies the possibility of playing for Rayados de Monterrey

The future of Jesús Tecatito Corona seemed to be quite uncertainbecause in the current transfer market his name has sounded very strong for a return to Mexico.

Tecatito has a current contract with Sevilla in Spain, but there was speculation about the possibility of him returning to Mexican soccer, specifically with Rayados de Monterrey.

Matías Bunge, representative of the 30-year-old winger, came out to clarify the situation: “It has been said that they already had talks started with Sevilla, but the reality is that there has been nothing”.

And he clarified: “As of today, there are no offers from Monterrey. They said that the transfer had been closed, and that I had met in Los Angeles and none of that was true.

Bunge confirmed that negotiations have not begun for the footballer, who has a valid contract with the Spanish team until June 30, 2025.

José Luis Mendilibar, Sevilla’s technical director, was upset because there were certain teams abroad that were messing with one of their players in clear reference to Rayados de Monterrey and Tecatito.

Possibility in Monterrey?

The sports president of Rayados de Monterrey, José Antonio Noriega, spoke of the possibility of repatriating one of his most recognized homegrown players.

I have been telling you that we need to be patient and intelligent, I think that today there was a demonstration that it is worth the wait. With Sergio (Canales) there were critical moments and we were patient,” Noriega said.

Corona arrived at Sevilla FC in the winter market of 2022, from FC Porto for an amount close to $3 million dollars. The Aztec player has a chip valued at more than $8 million according to Transfermarkt, the page specialized in the value of players.

The Mexican player debuted at Rayados de Monterrey in 2010. With the royal team he played 31 games, in which he scored two goals and registered two assists. At Sevilla he played 26 games, where he started 16 times, scored 3 goals, and gave four assists.
